The BTFA was founded in 1971 to promote and develop Track and Field Athletics nationally and internationally.

In April 1974 the Association affiliated with the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF), which is the world governing body for athletics, thus becoming the National Governing Body of Track and Field Athletics, Road Running, Cross Country and Race Walking in Bermuda.
Information will also be available on this site for the Bermuda International Race Weekend 2002, which was first organised by the BTFA in 1973 and has continued over the years.
